Don't put anything back in it, just start a new save and mess around a bit to see whether the work hours line up now. Remove your entire Sims 4 game folder from Documents\Electronic Arts and launch the game, which will create a clean folder with no content.

After the patch before university it got a lot worse. I first noticed it after seasons came out and it would only do it sometimes and no where near as extreme. Its making it impossible to play the game if I want my sims to go to school, university or have any job. Sim is suppose to got to class at 9.30 till 10.55 and then 11 till 12.25, they get the notification that class starts in 1 hour for the first class about the time the second class is supposed to start, they will then go to the first class at about 11 till 11.30 and be in class till about 1, then go to the next class and are there till about 3. This happens with children and school although haven't had them take quite as long to come home, its usually about 2 or 3 hours for them. If you choose to bring them home early their performance takes a hit and they can get the a bad moodlet about not doing well at work. The sims shift is suppose to finish at 4pm, the green bar circle that tells you how long to go in that activity is usually around half way, and the sim won't return for several hours after this. They will head to work sometime within an hour from that point. eg, Sims start time is 8am, between 10am and 11am they get the notification that work starts in 1 hour.
